Metabolic Balance. These are the words that caught my attention in a local newspaper when I was at a desperate low. By early 2021, I was extremely fatigued and depressed and unable to stay awake for more than 3 or 4 hours. With a recent diagnosis of type 2 diabetes on top of many other health issues I felt ready to die. I could not seem to stop gaining weight and started having angina for the first time in 20 years since my coronary artery bypass surgery.

I did not just need a weight-loss plan, I needed someone to walk the journey with me. I thank God for Kim. She made this awesome recovery possible through her daily coaching and and continuous support. It is now December 2021 and I honestly feel healthier than I have in 30 years. I have energy and I can walk without stopping to catch my breath. I no longer have cravings for sugar and carbs and even though I have gained back a little weight I feel very balanced. My body is working in wonderful ways that I did not think possible. With my doctor’s permission and encouragement I have decreased my statin drugs for cholesterol and halved my proton pump inhibitor for acid reflux. I have been on these medicines for years.

What I like most are the results, it’s crazy how fast you see and feel them. In a short amount of time I could see my skin clear up and my heartburn was gone. A year ago today I started on my Metabolic Balance journey. My goal was to lose 50 pounds within a year. I wondered at the time if this was unrealistic. But with the incredible science behind Metabolic Balance and the coaching and education from our amazing Kim, that 50 pounds was gone after 4 1/2 months. As great as that was, the bigger challenge was ahead. Would I be able to maintain my goal weight? I’m pleased to say that after celebrating Christmas, New Year, a 21 day cruise, and now the current struggles of corona Virus,  including isolation in a home full of baking ingredients, I am only 4 pounds over my goal. The one thing I thought was very cool about this Metabolic Balance program was the fact that I was able to find out what foods are best suited for my body type. There were so many different varieties of foods that I’ve never had before so I got to experience new healthy foods for the first time that I quite enjoyed; it definitely got me out of my comfort zone. I do have to admit this journey wasn’t an easy one but I’m really glad that I decided to take this big step into changing my eating habits. Since I was a young teen I was ALWAYS experiencing cramping and bloating after every meal. I consulted my family doctor and their response was always ‘’you need to cut this out of your diet’’ or ‘’maybe you are lactose intolerant, try this supplement and see’’. As a teen that was hard, especially since I am someone who LOVES to eat, especially cheese, and I thought that it was honestly not worth it for me because I would NEVER want to eliminate dairy from my diet. So at this point I was just dealing with the pain because there was no way I was going to cut out the foods that I love. It was only recently, after hearing about Kim and Metabolic Balance from a friend, that I finally decided that I needed to do this, that I was done dealing with this discomfort and I wanted to find the root of the problem. Since my first appointment with Kim I could tell how caring and dedicated she is to nutrition and showing everyone that ‘’food is not the problem’’. We got started right away and I was amazed to see how my blood could tell me what foods are best for me and that dairy was something I COULD eat. The first two weeks were rough but Kim was there to guide me through every step of the journey and my boyfriend, family and friends were there to help and support me as well. Once I was able to experiment with more foods I was amazed about how great I was feeling, and how I was able to eat and not suffer any consequences later on. Throughout this journey Kim helped me understand that good food is never the problem and how important it is to feed your gut! Ever since I have been putting my gut first and always providing it with some gut friendly foods. I am extremely happy that I finally decided to start this journey and I can’t imagine doing it with anyone else but Kim. She is a real GUT saver 🙂

I just wanted to again say ‘thank you’ for assisting me on this journey of wellness. It has been almost a year now since we first came together and I wanted to update you on my progress.
I have lost my goal weight of 15lbs, I have lots of energy, my inflammation is controlled, I sleep well and overall feel and look like the person I had hoped to become.
I feel good in my body and my clothes even as my 63rd year approaches. I have recently added Pilates to my daily routine and as someone who had regularly exercised throughout my life, I am now enjoying the toning aspect of this exercise because I have the strength and energy to do so. I would not have achieved any of these results without your guidance, wisdom, support, and kindness.
For many years following menopause, I was in a frustrated state with my health and wellness. Metabolic balance was exactly what I needed at this stage of my life. Kim is an inspiration! Our family is eating cleaner and feeling better. Her coaching skills are in tune with the motivation we needed to start and maintain our plan. The skills provided are easily integrated into your everyday. My skin is nicer, my nails less brittle, I have more energy and feel lighter… the weight loss was an added bonus!


The strict phase was grueling and challenging for 2 weeks, however, I never felt hungry. The food quantities were sufficient. As time went on the program became easier to cook, administer and eat.
I think the ”Balance” is key and the water is crucial. I feel as if something in my body has reset. My wife, as the cook also lost weight and feels as if she has had a reset. Kim is a great coach, listening to concerns and always suggesting alternatives.

Je suis une femme de 45 ans.  À l’âge de 20 ans, j’ai reçu un diagnostic d’endométriose sévère.  J’ai pris de la médication et j’ai eu plusieurs chirurgies sous anesthésie générale.  À l’âge de 25 ans, j’ai reçu le diagnostic de Maladie de Crohn.  J’ai reçu de la médication et j’ai eu des chirurgies sous anesthésie générale.  J’ai fumé la cigarette jusqu’à l’âge de 42 ans.  J’ai pris environ 10 lbs après avoir arrêté de fumer.  Quand j’ai consulté Kim, je souffrais de ballonnement, gaz, constipation, diarrhées, blocage intestinal occasionnel très douloureux.  Je prenais 2 sortes de médicaments pour la maladie de Crohn, mais rien pour l’endométriose qui a cessé dans la vingtaine.  Je voulais donc de l’aide à choisir les meilleurs aliments pour mon type de condition afin de réduire au maximum mon inconfort quotidien et possiblement perdre 10 lbs.

Depuis que j’ai suivi le programme, je ne prends plus de médicaments pour la maladie de Crohn et ce, depuis maintenant 1 an.  Je ne me sens plus ballonnée, mes selles sont presque toujours normales et j’ai plus d’énergie.  J’ai perdu 15 lbs dès le début du programme en 3 semaines environ, mais je trouvais ça trop alors j’ai repris 5 lbs pour me sentir mieux à mon poids santé de 130 lbs.  Selon mon médecin, tout va très bien au niveau de mes intestins, je n’ai pas d’inflammation et je suis en rémission.

Je n’ai jamais essayé d’autres programmes alors je peux difficilement le comparer aux autres, mais je garde une très bonne impression du programme en général.  Il a été simple à intégrer à ma vie de tous les jours et après avoir complété les phases du programme, j’ai pu retourner à mes habitudes alimentaires, mais en gardant ce qui est le plus bénéfique pour moi.

My whole life, I was under the impression that my body had low sugar levels. My health goals: to lose weight (about 15 lbs), to lower my cholesterol, to reduce my shoulder pains, to generally feel better.

It took about 4 weeks to reach my goal of losing 15 pounds. I have been able to maintain it. I haven’t been tested yet for my cholesterol levels. I do feel generally better. Metabolic Balance is not a diet but is a change in lifestyle. The food is good and I never went hungry while greatly reducing my cravings. J’ai presque toujours eu un surplus de poids et fais le yoyo suite à des grossesses et des événements difficile dans ma vie. J’ai décidé de m’engager dans Métabolic Balance suite a un sévère avertissement cardiovasculaires durant une promenade a vélo. La première chose remarquée est  bien sûr le surplus poids éliminé en moins d’un an. Comme je souffre de narcolepsie, je dirais également sommeil moins agité et accès sommeil moins intenses durant la journée.  Je m’étais pas vraiment fixé un objectif de poids, je voulais juste être mieux avec moi même. Bien sûr un travail émotionnel était à faire et est à continuer. Comme je suis conseillère en produits naturels, j’adore en parler a mes clients en magasin. A brief summary of my experience on the metabolic plan so far.
Eight weeks in:
First, let me say I am never hungry and that was my biggest concern.
Weight… Loss has been slow for me, but that is how I want it to be… I have lost near to eleven pounds and three inches off my waist and two off the thighs.
General well being… Never felt better, and seem much calmer.
I certainly have more energy and less joint pain.
Digestion- I have very few problems now.
Sleep has improved, though not every night.
In general, I am enthusiastic about my success and will never go back to the way it was before, even though I thought I was eating healthy.


I only endorse what I love and Kim L’Ecuyer is the one that helped me take off those stubborn last 10 lbs that I struggled With FOREVER!

Quoi de mieux qu’un départ à la retraite pour choisir de s’occuper de soi-même.  Depuis plusieurs années je cherchais la formule magique pour perdre du poids, j’avais la motivation sans le bon outil.  Par l’intermédiaire de mon acupuncteur je suis entrée en contact avec Kim.  Dès cet instant je savais que j’avais rencontré la bonne personne pour m’accompagner dans cette aventure.  Avant de débuter, des tests sanguins sont nécessaires afin de déterminer quels sont les aliments qui sont en accord avec notre métabolisme.  Cet outil est unique à chacun et facile à suivre.  Le plus surprenant est le fait de ne pas ressentir la faim entre les repas.  Après bientôt 12 semaines, j’ai perdu 26 lbs et il me reste 10 lbs à perdre, je suis plus calme, moins de douleur aux articulations et meilleur sommeil.  Merci Kim, pour ton professionnalisme, ton support et tes bons conseils tout au long de cette aventure.

The Metabolic Balance plan is amazing!  The individual plan based on my blood test results enabled me to know which foods are ideal for me.  I am eating good clean food, and feel great.    I have much more energy and have lost 15 pounds.


J’ai vraiment apprécié assister aux ateliers donnés par Kim L’Écuyer au IGA, vraiment j’ai appris plein de choses et cela m’aidera à équilibrer mon alimentation, j’aimerais qu’elle en donne d’autres car il y a tellement de sujets qui pourraient m’intéresser dans l’alimentation. C’est la 1ère fois que je comprends enfin certains sujets comme les aliments qui peuvent servir de probiotiques etc., Kim est facile à comprendre et est très patiente si on ne comprend pas très vite. Grâce à elle, je m’intéresse vraiment à ce que je mange, et je veux m’améliorer de plus en plus, elle fait des recettes devant nous en plus, on a adoré ça.

‘Before beginning my journey with Kim, I was experiencing constant pain in my lower back, hips, and my right hand/wrist.
The pain was from inflammation, and I was told it was all correlated to my ankylosing spondylitis.

I had tried meloxicam, and diclofenac which each came with their own interesting side effects but did not reduce the pain like I hoped. My next step was to try biologic drugs which would have suppressed my immune system more and most likely caused bigger health issues.

I was not for this. I was getting sick often enough and I didn’t have a good feeling about suppressing my immune system more than it already was in my early 20’s.

I then started hearing stories about young people on these drugs, and finally COVID-19 hit. These were all signs that I needed to find something else. This led me to messaging Kim.

My experience with this holistic nutritional approach was an interesting one! It started out tough and eye-opening.

I was a big snacker, and I loved my junk food. I was always eating. When I got my blood results back and saw that my inflammation levels were over 5x the norm, I knew this was the right idea.

The first few days were the worst in all aspects, cooking was hard, it was hard mentally to not snack at any time and was hard physically because my body was just not use to this eating style.

But after a few days I wasn’t feeling the pain that I was use to. My back wasn’t as sore, the pain in my hand had faded and I was able to write and draw for more than 5 minutes at a time, I was shocked!

After several weeks I was really seeing a difference, I was able to add good quality dairy, gluten and red meat back in after many weeks without and not suffer from inflammatory symptoms, moderation is key of course!

Having a busy schedule helped me stay focused on what I was eating. I would meal prep for the week and all I had to do was warm it up or take it out of the fridge. I realized that the reason I was eating so much junk was because I wasn’t taking the time, or simply didn’t feel like cooking.

It is important to note that I am no chef, up until 2 years ago I didn’t even know how to cook a chicken breast! I am now making meals that are appetizing, filling, and so tasty.

This journey has not only taught me so much about food and what to look for in my food, it has taught me what is best for my body!

Working with Kim has been so delightful. She is very understanding of my needs and understands that life gets in the way sometimes and we fall off track!

She thought ahead and has even created a game plan for when/if that happens to get me back on track more easily.

She has helped me find what works best for my body, and is continuously giving recommendations to try and giving recipes that are easily altered to my plan and my preferred taste.

She has allowed me to discover new foods that are not only high quality but many which I prefer over what I used to eat!’

Discipline is not about deprivation, it’s about focus

I approached Kim L’Ecuyer and we started my journey. Part of the plan was to put wheels in motion and get my head around it. Blood tests and a date were picked to start!
A little about my personal motivation- blood sugar levels have been hovering at slightly higher than normal for some time- a number of other markers were creeping to higher numbers as well- nothing dangerous – but troubling to the long view. I did not want to approach a new decade with lifestyle health issues. I have the ability to change my lifestyle and make positive improvements.
I need a plan – if left to my own devices- well I am sure you get the picture! I also need a plan that I can see myself living with moving forward. I am interested in health- not counting calories. Kim has provided me with knowledge, support, ideas, motivation in an adult way- no finger wagging – but instead thoughtful concrete options!
I love her focus on proactive health and the ability to heal through our guts (double meaning here!!!) – I have improved all of my markers without a pill! The power of nutrition is a wonderful thing!!!
Besides the overall improvement in my physical health I love my energy and mental stamina!
